Origin
The origin of the Pāli text is not known but while King Mongkut did compose some chants, contrary to common belief the 'Iminā puññakammena' was not composed by him, and it is probably an older chant.
The Thai translation was made by Ajahn Buddhadāsa at Suan Mokkh, along with the Thai translation of the morning and evening chanting, these translations has spread in Thailand with the Suan Mokkh chanting book.
Chanting compositions by King Mongkut Rama IV (1804-1868) published in 1924, but the abstract doesn't list the Uddissanādhiṭṭhāna-gāthā.
Chantings, the royal compositions of King Rama IV (1924)
Abstract: The Pali language prayers (with translations) currently used by both monks and laity are mostly composed by King Rama IV in the first edition. There are 8 stories: Namokāratthaka, Tirattanapanamakatha, Morning and Evening Prayers, Mokkhupaiyakatha, Ovādapatimokkhadipatha, Trānattyapabhavabhivanakatha, Devatapattidanakatha, Sappapatidanakatha.
The Pirit Potha ("The Book of Protection") and Catubhāṇavārapāḷi ("Text of the Four Recitals", 5th century CE, Sri Lanka) also do not contain the 'Iminā puññakammena' chant.
